A few do but not many – I think the general population should have a much better understanding of science.

My friends, who have a background in science, do understand when I discuss science with them. I explain in very simple terms, starting from the basics, for the other friends who have some other background.

My science friends do. My non science friends find it difficult. I find it’s an opportunity to try to word what I do in language that everyone can understand.

Yes as a lot of my friends have science backgrounds but anybody else, no they haven’t got a clue when I talsk about what I do. Really sad that people don’t know more about science.

Both my parents have worked in Science and lots of my friends are Scientists so they get the more technical bits – but I feel I’ve been doing this long enough now that I can explain quite well to “non-scientists” what I do as a day job.
I think the last couple of years has also bought Science to the front of many peoples minds who may not have considered how important it is before!
