      Chemistry refers to substances from which matter is composed, there are 3 main branches:

      Organic chemistry – the chemistry of carbon containing compounds – their structure, reactions and properties – the name comes about as a long time ago all carbon compounds were thought to come from living organisms.

      Inorganic chemistry – the chemistry of the rest of the periodic table – structure, reactions and properties

      physical chemistry – as the name suggests this it’s related to physics and deals with interactions and transformations like energy transfer and heat.
