At school I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do – I applied for the police and navy but wasn’t really serious about them, I liked science and english – I left school and got a job as a science technician for a pharma company testing penicillin’s and moved on to working on the scale up of chemical reactions. I left and did a degree and got my ideal job working to discover new drugs and I’ve loved it ever since.
I had a job whilst at school in a bar which really helped my self confidence – any public facing job can help you overcome shyness.
